Epic Games – Fortnite 2FA security Set-Up Guide
2FA, or two-factor authentication, is an additional security measure used by accounts on most major platforms. It helps protect a user’s account by giving it another layer of protection and a trusted username/password combination. But how do you enable two-factor authentication (2FA) in Fortnite, and what is it for?
In short, two-factor authentication asks for something more secure than simply entering the username and password for the account. For example, this could be more than an email confirmation or a phone message. Anyone trying to access your account illegally will have a hard time as they will need to access your email and phone.
Here’s how two-factor authentication works in Fortnite and how you can enable it.
Fortnite 2FA security Setup Complete Guide on how you can enable it

However, despite its availability, not everyone knows how to enable two-factor authentication (2FA) for Fortnite. Fortunately, it is effortless and takes very little time.
You can choose to authenticate with your email or use the authentication app on your phone. Here is a quick step-by-step on how to enable two-factor authentication for Fortnite:
- Go to your Epic Games account settings.
- Open the Password and Security tab.
- Scroll down and choose Enable Email Authentication or Enable Authentication App.
Should you choose to authenticate with your email, things will be relatively simple. All you have to do is log into your email and verify that you own it.
You will need to download an app that can act as an authenticator for your phone for authentication with an app.
Here are some of the apps that work on both Android and iOS devices:
– Microsoft Authenticator
– Google Authenticator
– authorized
– LastPass Authenticator
After installing one of those on your device, you have to link your account to your phone using the app.
