Can the new “Immersive Mode” save Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint? We will soon be able to find out for ourselves. Because Ubisoft promises in a new trailer that the mode, which was actually announced for February, should appear in March. Specifically, on March 24, 2020, we’re supposed to get the chance to play Breakpoint in a whole new way.
Previously, the release of the extensive update had been postponed because the planned changes had been calculated in the time required. But can a patch save the messed-up shooter adventure that caused consternation and anger for the players in October 2019?display
Ubisoft is trying new mode
Of course, you cannot make a real judgment at this point in time, because up to now we have not been able to try out the immersive mode ourselves. But if you look at the descriptions of the developers and the new accompanying video, you have to recognize that Ubisoft comes around the corner with some ideas and features that at least try to solve many of the original problems.
For example, in alternative mode, which should be available from the start and throughout the game, the level of equipment is completely deactivated. So if you have found a weapon and appropriate adjustments that you can get along with, you can keep and use it throughout the campaign without hitting any limits, because opponents in the level get too high and, despite a number of direct hits, simply cannot want to fall over.
In addition, it is free to decide whether the controlled character should use one or two primary weapons while taking on the missions and tasks. The “Ghost Experience”, as Ubisoft calls the new mode, “the weapons of the fallen enemies may be lifted 1 to 1 in order to be able to adapt your own armament more realistically. A setting is also available in which the remaining ammunition in the magazine is lost if the player reloads manually.
Extensive customization options
The behavior and capacity of endurance, life regeneration, associations and some more can be adjusted as desired. The same applies to the HUD or interface. In the complete PvE part of the game, you will decide which information will be given to you. In the particularly immersive mode, you should also be able to choose a setting that ensures that you can only see characters and NPCs relevant to the story in the city .
If you would prefer a mixture of the conventional presentation and design of Breakpoint, you can set that up yourself. Because each of the features explained above can be varied, switched on and off as desired. So you can find your own degree between old and new gameplay. By the way: The cooperative game also works without restrictions with both modes and variants in between. Each player in the session keeps their own options.
