GTA Online and Red Dead Online Server Offline (June 4, 2020)
Rockstar announced that the GTA 5 and Red Dead Online servers would be offline for two hours. This is done to honor the legacy of George Floyd, Rockstar said.
Today, June 4, GTA Online and Red Dead Online servers will be closed around 2:00 pm. ET. The downtime will be for two hours, around 4 pm. ET You’ll be able to play again.
The George Floyd tragedy also delayed the start of season 3 in Fortnite and season 4 in Modern Warfare.
Black Lives Matter. To honor the legacy of George Floyd, today, 6/4/20, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. ET, we will be shutting down access to our online games, Grand Theft Auto Online and Red Dead Online.

Rockstar and the decision to close both online servers are supported to support Black Lives Matter traffic and black communities. This comes amid ongoing protests against the police killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis on May 25, and demanding demonstrators around the world to reform the police in America and hold police accountable for the deaths.
