Skalda S / Spio Elytra S.
- Armor type: waist
- Competencies
- Weakness exploit LV2
- Key: None
Very likely the only piece here that is “Best in Slot” as many gamers call it, as there is literally no competition on how useful it is. Weakness Exploit is a skill that is in demand for pretty much every build in the game, and also for every weapon. With two points straight away, this waistline is a breeze for any offensive setup. With a talisman with weakness exploit, even at LV1, you can get the most out of one of its most important skills with just two parts.
Golden Hakama
- Armor type: feet
- Competencies
- Critical Boost LV2
- Latent Power LV1
- Key: 2
- LV1
- LV1
Golden Hakama is another contender for “Best in Slot” in the “Feet” category. It’s just amazing with the infamous Critical Boost ability on LV2 and two decoration slots. Like Weakness Exploit, Critical Boost is a must have for any offensive build. That’s why this gear is so important and easy to incorporate into many builds.
Rathalos braces p.
- Armor type: gloves
- Competencies
- Attack Boost LV2
- Key: 1
- LV2
Attack Boost is a very helpful and important skill, and Rathalos Braces S has two levels that can easily be combined with Anjanath Coil S to get Attack Boost LV4 instantly. This is enough to make the most of this ability. Most notable, however, is the Rathalos Braces S LV2 decoration slot, which is extremely important for inserting very good decorations. An alternative to these braces is the Anjanath Vambraces S, but they only have a single LV1 slot, which is a pretty big drawback.
Anjanath Coil S.
- Armor type: waist
- Competencies
- Attack Boost LV2
- Key: 3
- LV2
- LV1
- LV1
Attack Boost LV2 and 3 Deco slots, one of which is an LV2 slot, make Anjanath Coil S an excellent choice for anyone who doesn’t want to use the Skalda S / Spio Elytra S. Along with Rathalos Braces S, they hit the sweet spot of Attack Boost LV4 very easily and with so many decoration slots you have literally dozen of options to further improve your setup.
Parallel bars greaves p.
- Armor type: feet
- Competencies
- Attack Boost LV2
- Critical Eye LV2
- Key: 1
- LV1
There’s no reason not to have this armor outfitted if your first time traversing the dangers of high-level quests. You can make or buy it very early on in the HR department, which makes it a solid choice for any build, even for more advanced setups.
Hunter Mail S.
- Armor type: chest
- Competencies
- Attack Boost LV1
- Craft LV1
- Key: 1
- LV1
Hunter Mail S is easily overlooked as you make it early if you join the human resources department. It makes a great piece of armor because of its invaluable craftsmanship. It is currently the only equipment that has this capability.
Mighty bow feather
- Armor type: head
- Competencies
- Arc Charge Plus Lv1
- Key: None
It can be completely useless for melee builds, but it is a mandatory tool for Bow users even without a single decoration slot. Bow Charge Plus is just too good to last.
Remobra suit S.
- Armor type: chest
- Competencies
- Critical Boost Lv1
- Key: 2
- LV1
- LV1
Remobra Suit S, another piece of armor with the important Critical Boost ability, can either be equipped with Golden Hakama to maximize the specific skill, or used as an alternative to the skill at LV1 if Golden Hakama is not an option.
Zinogre Helm S and Zinogre Mail S.
- Armor type: head / chest
- Competencies (both have the same)
- Latent Power LV1
- Weakness exploit LV1
- Key: 1 (both have the same)
- LV1
The reason these are listed together is that they literally have the same skills and decoration slots and serve the same purpose. You can wear either one to fill the Vulnerability Exploit skill, or you can even wear them together to just go straight to LV2 and combine a Vulnerability Exploit LV1 talisman to get the most out of it. Both are great fillers and most likely the earliest way to get access to this important skill.
There are a ton more items that can be considered the best pieces of armor in Monster Hunter Rise depending on what you’re looking for. However, all of the above items are simply more efficient than others and offer a great deal of versatility and ease with access to some very powerful skills.
Best weapons in Monster Hunter Rise
The beauty of games like Monster Hunter Rise lies in the multitude of options you have when creating your characters. Armor, skills, decorations, mate skills, and of course, weapons are all things to consider when trying to create an endgame setup. While the term “best guns” can be very subjective, there are tools that work best by default compared to others.
Monster Hunter Rise has three types of weapons. “Raw” weapons, elemental and disease weapons. The first are those with no elemental or status attribute that hit the monster with raw damage, elemental are those that have been upgraded with any of the elements of the game, and disease weapons are those that can give a monster a negative status, such as poison and paralysis.
As of the current state of the game, elemental and raw weapons are considered the best, and many setups complement them perfectly. However, this depends on the weapon class. Dual Blades, for example, usually require a different tool for each element because they specialize in this and their damage is caused by multiple fast-hitting elemental bursts. Hammers and greatswords, on the other hand, can make the most of it with just a single, hard-hitting raw weapon. Please note that all of this can change as MH Rise’s upcoming DLC can easily affect any list here. That said, for now, here’s what the game features.
Best large sword weapons
Big swords need big numbers and don’t really care about a monster’s elemental weakness. Hence, raw greatswords are preferred, with Dark of Night being in the limelight due to its white sharpness. high attack and great affinity.
