Pokémon GO: What are Strange Eggs? How to Eggs Hatch Quickly

Pokémon GO has several different types of eggs, but one of the most difficult to collect is Strange Eggs, which require multiple steps to find. That is why we created this guide to tell you exactly what the Strange Eggs in the game are and what you can currently do with them.

Pokémon GO: What is a strange egg?

That might make you wonder, what are stange eggs in Pokémon GO? Well, weird eggs are something you’ve probably had, and may still have, in Pokémon Go. These are the special red eggs that you get for defeating the rocket leaders. These have been harder to come by in the past as you would be missing out if you had a full list of nine eggs in your inventory, but the special edition that allows you to put those red eggs in should allow you to have some.

Especially for Pancham, you will need some of these red eggs after Pancham is added. With the new update showing you potential Pokémon that you can get from each egg, you can make sure a specific egg is one to hatch from and throw it in an incubator and hope for the best.

The current list of Pokemon that drop from the eggs are:

Tier 1 Rarity

  • Absol
  • Larvitar
  • Pawniard
  • Scraggy
  • Vullaby

Tier 3 Rarity

  • Deino
  • Pancham
  • Qwilfish
  • Skorupi
  • Sandile

How do I get Strange Eggs in Pokemon Go?

To get Strange Eggs, you have to eliminate a GO Rocket Team Leader to claim it as a reward. Just make sure you have space in the Egg Stock, Bag, and Pokemon Storage, or else you won’t be able to claim your prize.

Pokemon Go Strange Eggs: hatch rate

Strange Eggs are 12km eggs, putting them pretty high up the hatch rate spectrum, so make sure you’ve got your hiking boots on and are ready to go!

What is the rarest egg in Pokemon Go?

The rarest egg in Pokemon Go is a 12km egg – and they’re the ones you need to walk around with the longest, in order to hatch it.

Pokemon: The eggs come in five different types: 2 km, 5 km, 7 km, 10 km, and finally, our stange eggs are 12 km. Pokemon inside increases as levels go up, so a 10-kilometre egg will hatch for you something rarer than 2 kilometres.

How to eggs hatch quickly in Pokemon Go

If you are lucky enough to have some of these coveted eggs, you will want to hatch them and reveal your Pokémon as soon as possible.

Here’s a tips how to hatch eggs quickly:

  • Use incubators – It can be purchased via the Pokemon Go store. However, it is disposable, so it expires after three uses. We recommend using them to hatch 10 km and 12 km of eggs.
  • Turn on Adventure Sync – Adventure Sync makes sure that your steps are recorded even if the app isn’t open.
Adventure Sync is only available from Level 5 onwards
  • Leave your Go on even if you’re just at home – Pokemon Go often picks up minor movements, so if you stick your phone to charge and leave it on, you’ll start gaining steps even though you’re not walking.

That’s it for our Strange Eggs and eggs hatch in Pokemon Go guide. You can read more details about Pancham’s introduction to the game in our guide on it.
