Microsoft released its next Windows 10 1909 (November 2019 update) on MSDN. Both consumer and business editions are available for download for developers.
As previously reported, Windows 10 version 1909 will be delivered to the public next month. The Insiders of the Slow and Release Preview ring are already testing the final version of the next desktop operating system. With this feature update, Microsoft focuses entirely on performance improvements and operating system stability rather than offering a long list of new features that have often not been tested.
The Windows manufacturer had said that Windows 10 1909 will be delivered as a monthly cumulative update, delivering only a handful of changes with the installation process that takes much less time. However, that will only work if your device is running the current May 2019 update (version 1903) since previous versions will still have to go through the long installation process.
The availability of the Windows 10 November 2019 update on the developer network (via WL) suggests that the operating system is ready for developers. Developers can now start testing the November 2019 update and today’s MSDN version seems to be another effort for that front, not really a version for business users. Downloads available to MSDN subscribers through this link.
Microsoft will be seeding version 1909 as an enablement package on May 2019 Update PCs to increase the build number and enable the new features, which confirms that this could be a small ‘feature’ update.
