ARK: SURVIVAL ASCENDED: RELEASE TRAILER AND GAMEPLAY
Studio Wildcard, the creators of the blockbuster dinosaur adventure ARK: Survival Evolved (ASE), is working on a new survival game called ARK: Survival Ascended (ASA). ASA is not the anticipated successor to ARK: Survival Evolved. This is known as ARK 2, and it is set to be released at the end of 2024, following the postponement of the sequel initially slated for 2022.
ARK: Survival Ascended is a reworked version of the base game ARK: Survival Evolved that will operate on Unreal Engine 5 and has been cleaned up. ASA is now available for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
However, whether it is a remaster or a remake is yet unknown. ASA’s initial remarks stated a remaster (see survivetheark.com), although Wildcard recently referred to the game as a remake (via Steam). There are significant distinctions between a remake and a remaster.

When does ARK: Survival Ascended come out? The release date is set for October 2023, but we don’t know any other information about it yet, and the month is almost over.
Is there an extra set? Yes, the first video for ARK: Survival Ascended came out today, October 25, 2023, at an Xbox event. The event began at 7 p.m. and was live-streamed on YouTube.
Is there a gameplay? Not yet, not even in the new trailer. You can’t see any real action yet. That being said, the two-minute movie shows what the game looks like in the new UE5.
A classic ARK experience instead of an adventure like Souls
The goal of ARK: Survival Ascended is to bring the old-school survival game experience up to date. ASA will get cross-platform modding, better graphics, and faster speed along with the switch to Unreal Engine 5.
What does ARK: Survival Ascended have to do with Wildcard? ARK: Survival Ascended’s makers wrote a blog post on September 30th with three reasons why they are making the game in the first place (via Steam).
How much money the company has also plays a part. The creators say it’s been “difficult” to ensure the “long-term survival of the studio” while working on ARK 2 without putting out paid add-ons all the time. Even though the sequel is being made, the company wants to keep making money.
The people working on ARK: Survival Ascended should also get better at using Unreal Engine 5.
Wildcard also wants to give a classic ARK experience on a clean code with ARK: Survival Ascended. This is because ARK 2 is meant to be a “Souls-like adventure” and is different from the original ARK game in this way.
