An update on Thursday?
Yes, even if the updates for Destiny 2 appear regularly on Tuesdays, there is a new patch today – the hotfix 2.8.0.1. As part of the new update, unscheduled maintenance work will therefore take place at Destiny 2 today – including a short downtime.

These are the important times today:
Destiny 2 Server Down on March 19th – Update 2.8.0.1
- Maintenance begins at 5:00 p.m.
- The servers then go offline at 5:45 p.m. The downtime begins
- The Destiny 2 servers should start up again at 6:00 p.m. Then the release of Update 2.8.0.1 begins
- Today’s maintenance work should end at 7:00 p.m.

What changes with Destiny 2 Update hotfix 2.8.0.1 today?
What is the hotfix all about? According to Bungie, today’s hotfix should disable the additional artifact power in the Trials of Osiris and in the iron banner. The studio announced this on Twitter yesterday.
It is not yet known whether anything will change with the hotfix. However, a complete overview of all adjustments will come in the form of the official patch notes this evening.
What was the problem with artifact power?
Numerous players saw the bonus power levels, which are achieved via the artifact, as a problem and demanded that they be switched off. Because in the trials (and also in the iron banner) power level advantages are active. Due to the artifact bonus, there was in principle no cap, so players can become too powerful too quickly with a lot of time. Many feared that this would make the tests unplayable in no time.
By the way, the mods of the artifact will remain active. Only the additional power levels are deactivated.
